Who we are

The Church Media Center is a lending library or resource center co-sponsored by New Hampshire's Episcopal Diocese and UCC Conference. It has been in operation since 1976 when the two denominations got together and formed this service program as a good stewardship endeavor. It was incorporated as a separate non-profit organization in 1986 with its own Board of Directors composed of five persons appointed from each denomination, each of whom serve for up to six years. The Officers of the Board are nominated in such order that the denominational representation is rotated.

Our vision for the future is to develop a broader, ecumenical user base beyond that provided by our sponsors in the Episcopal and UCC communities. We plan to host more special programs at the Media Center that will be open to all interested parties. We continue to see new possibilities for this resource, especially in the opportunities for growth and involvement throughout New Hampshire's faith communities.

The mission of the Episcopal Church in the diocese of New Hampshire is initiated and empowered by the baptismal covenant with Almighty God through which its members have been incorporated into the Body of Christ and are led by the Holy Spirit - in their congregations and communities, through their institutions and as persons, in their worship and in their lives- to proclaim by word and example the Good News of God in Christ;- to seek and serve Christ in all persons, loving our neighbors as ourselves;- to strive for justice and peace among all people, respecting the dignity of every human being.

The mission of the New Hampshire Conference of the United Church of Christ is to worship, work, and pray with the congregations of our Conference and with mission partners in our denomination and throughout the world, so that together we practice the love of Jesus Christ. Our vision is a world that seeks compassion, justice and peace for all people, a faith that celebrates the Holy Spirit as the source of joy, growth and healing, and a church that offers to all a dwelling place with God and for God.
